How to Make Carrot and swede mash

Serves 4–6 as a side dish

Ingredients

  • 400g/14oz carrots
  • 400g/14oz swede
  • 25g/1oz butter
  • 2 tbsp crème fraîche
  • 2 tbsp creamed horseradish
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper

Method

  1. Cook the carrots and swede together in a saucepan of boiling salted water for 30–35 minutes, or until tender. Drain and return to the pan.

  2. Add the butter, crème fraîche and horseradish, mash well and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve.
